| What are Essences?
Essences（often referred to as Gems）are upgrade components that can be slotted into your weapons to boost their overall performance. Similar to socket systems in other RPGs, each Essence provides additional stats or effects, improving your damage output, survivability, or the effectiveness of certain abilities.
- Stable Essences have only one Essence Stat, granting +1 level
- Clean Essences have two Essence Stats, granting up to +2 levels
- Pure Essences have three Essence Stats, granting up to +3 levels
- Flawless Essences have three Essence Stats, granting +6 levels for Attribute and Secondary Stats and up to +3 for named Skill Stats
| How to Farm Essence？
Randomly Dropped By Enemies
In the early stages of the game, your only way to obtain Essences is through random drops from defeated enemies. At this point, you’ll mostly receive lower-tier (green) Essences, though their rarity gradually improves as your Exploration Level increases.
As you move into the mid-game and progress further through the story, you’ll unlock Severe Energy Alluvium zones. These special areas appear at fixed locations on the map and allow you to spend Sanity after clearing enemies to farm Essences directly. You can repeat these runs as long as you have enough Sanity, making them the primary and more reliable source of Essence farming.
Essences Combining
You can also merge three Essences of the same rarity to create one Essence of a higher tier. This system is useful for clearing out unwanted pieces, allowing you to recycle extras into potentially stronger upgrades instead of letting them go to waste.
Severe Energy Alluvium
Severe Energy Alluvium dungeons are dedicated farming stages designed for collecting Essences. Each one features its own unique stat pool, meaning the possible attributes on your drops vary depending on which dungeon you choose to run.

| How to Choose the Best Essences for Your Weapons
Keep in mind that an Essence’s bonuses only activate when its stats align with your weapon’s attributes. Every weapon comes with a base Attack stat plus up to three additional properties. An Essence will only grant its stat boosts if those stats match one or more of the weapon’s extra attributes—any non-matching stats provide no benefit.
Your primary objective is to find an Essence that matches all of your weapon’s stats, so you can fully benefit from its bonuses. Each weapon displays progress bars beneath its stat names, and an equipped Essence increases these bars depending on its current upgrade level.
The first two stat bars can be unlocked simply by leveling the weapon, while the third requires duplicate copies to raise the weapon’s Potential.
Higher-rarity gold Essences typically start with one bar for each stat type, though lucky rolls can grant extra bars by default. From our experience, it’s common to begin with at least three total bars, which makes further upgrades much easier and more efficient.
