Gifting is the main way to send cosmetics and shop items to friends in Where Winds Meet, as the game has no traditional trading system. There’s also a separate NPC friendship system for weekly rewards. This guide covers what you can gift, how to send and claim gifts, the gifting limit, common issues, and NPC gifts.

You can gift most cash-shop items purchased with Echo Beads (also called Pearls in some interfaces).
The most common giftable items include:

What you generally cannot gift:
Intimacy gifts (such as Peach Branch or Green Ant Wine) are a separate system used only to raise friendship level between players and are not the same as cash-shop gifting.
Follow these steps to send a gift:

5. Search for or select your friend from the list.
6. Confirm the purchase and send the gift. You can usually add a short message.
Alternatively, open your friend’s profile (from chat or the friends list) and use the Gift button there if available.

Gifts typically appear as a notification or directly in your chat with the sender. Claim the gift as soon as possible. Unclaimed gifts are refunded to the sender after a short period (24 hours). Once claimed, the item is added to your inventory or appearance collection.
This is the most common source of confusion and frustration.
The game uses a gifting limit that is tied to the total amount of Echo Beads you have purchased on your account. In practice:
This system exists as an anti-scam and anti-chargeback measure. New or low-spending accounts often cannot gift high-value outfits until they have topped up enough to raise the limit.

Common problem: “I can’t gift my friend a skin / outfit.”
In almost every case this is caused by an insufficient gifting limit. Topping up more currency through a Where Winds Meet Top Up Center is the solution.
Where Winds Meet includes a Gift Lock option in the settings menu (Settings → Other Settings → Security). When turned on, the game asks for your account password every time you try to send a gift, adding an extra layer of protection against accidental or unauthorized gifting.
The same Security page also offers similar locks for Social actions, Appearance changes, and Challenge modes. On top of this toggle, the game has additional safeguards: a cooldown period after adding a new friend before gifting is allowed, and systems that can recover items or penalize accounts involved in unauthorized or fraudulent gifting.

This is a completely separate system from player gifting.

2. Once the friendship threshold is high enough, certain NPCs will send you weekly gift bags.
3. Claim these rewards from the Friends → Rewards menu (not from chat notifications).

These gifts usually contain materials, currency, affinity items, or other useful rewards. Not every NPC gives gifts — only those designed with a rewards panel do.
Gifting in Where Winds Meet is straightforward once you understand the shop Gift option and the spending-based limit system. Most players run into issues only when trying to send high-value cosmetics on low-spend accounts.
With a sufficient top-up, you can raise your gifting limit and easily send outfits, cosmetics, and other shop items to friends. Enjoy the Jianghu and share the looks you like!
