About The Treasure Compass Enhancements & The Changes
The Genshin Impact 5.5 update brings new areas to Natlan. The areas are Collective of Plenty, Atocpan, Remnants of Tetenanco and the Ancient Sacred Mountain. With the addition of these regions, mode treasure chest locations were added to the game.
If you are new to the game, you must be wondering what treasure compasses are? Treasure compasses are region-specific gadgets that allow the user to find treasure chests placed around the map. These devices are reusable and are forged. As mentioned before, each region has its specific treasure compass. For the Natlan region, the corresponding treasure chest is the Pyro Treasure Compass. These compasses, after equipping them, show a light stream towards the treasure chest.
Getting Started with the Treasure Compasses
Getting The Compass
As mentioned before, compasses are forged gadgets. It means that you will have to get a blueprint for them, and then craft it by finding suitable materials. So, how do you get the blueprint for the compasses? You get the blueprints as per the Reputation you have in the region. Reputation, as the name might suggest, is a game mechanic which is dependent on how you interact with the respective region. The interaction refers to doing Requests or Bounties that you get from various NPCs in the region. On completion of the requests or bounties, you will be able to raise your reputation level.
The compass will also lead you to Monetoos. Eleven new Monetoos in the Atocpan and Sacred Ancient Mountains have been included with the 5.5 version of the game. So, the total number of Monetoos comes to 69. These monetoos are similar to puzzles. There are four different types of Monetoos. Each type has a different method of solving.
The Prerequisites
Genshin Impact is a gacha game. Like with any gacha game, each task has some prerequisites to start. Each region has different reputation level requirements. The main focus is on the newer regions of Natlan, so you will need the Pyro Treasure Compass Blueprint. You unlock this blueprint when you reach the maximum reputation with all the tribes in the Natlan region. Although it may appear like a difficult task, it is simple.
You have to do the following Main World quests to start to see some chests. In the Natlan region, you will have to work on Act I, Act II, and Act III of the World Quest. During these main world quests, you will come across 32 of 217 scattered around. The chest is found at:
- Brief History of Rocks - 1 Chest
- Investigator of Ancient Ruins - 3 Chests
- Purple Tepetlisaurus? - 3 Chests
- Sing Ho For The Greatness of Fat - 2 Chest
- A Lonely Sentinel - 5 Chests
- Shadow of the Colossi - 2 Chests
- Save Little Saurians - 5 Chests
- Warrior's Challenges - 9 Chests
- Hidden Rooms in Atocpan - 1 Chest
- Someday, We All Must Walk Alone - 1 Chest
Watch out for those chests, then! But, you must be wondering, these chests give some primogems, that is all, why bother finding them all? Updates like this are going to be the norm. There are a lot of characters on the way. So, completing tasks like these helps save up primogems. But you can always choose to buy Genshin Impact Crystals. The choice is yours.
Making A Compass
So, once you have achieved the required Reputation level, you will get the blueprint for the compass of that region. After getting the blueprint, you must get the needed items to make the compass. In this case, for the Pyro Treasure Compass, you will need to get the following materials:
- 10 Golden Raven Insignia
- 10 Saurian Claw Succulent
- 10 Crystal Chunk
You can get the Golden Raven Insignia by crafting or by defeating treasure hoarders that are above level 60. But at the end of the day, you will have to go to the area of Minlin and defeat the Treasure Hoarders there. The lower-level ones give lower-level Raven Insignias, which you can use to craft the Golden Raven Insignias required.
You can get the Saurian Claw Succulent in two ways. One way is to buy it from Cintli. Cintli in the Stadium of the Sacred Flame in Natlan is selling the five Saurian Claw Succulents for a thousand mora. The other way is to farm it by exploring the various regions of Natlan.
You can get the Crystal Chunks in two ways. One is to find it randomly in the wild. The other way is by going to farm it in Stormterror's lair.
Finally, after getting the required items to craft the compass, go to the forge and craft it. Congrats! You have a compass that only works for the region.
Using The Compass
Remember there are 217 compasses in the region of Natlan. Out of these 217, you only got 32 of them from the various World Quest tasks and missions. There are 185 still remaining, so you will have to find these treasure chests by making use of the treasure compass. Bring the compass out into your inventory to begin. Equip it and use it.
The compass will detect if there are any unopened Treasure Chests in the vicinity. If one such treasure chest is found, a golden light guides you to the chest. The compass has a cooldown time of thirty seconds. But, if no unopened chests were found in the vicinity, you can use the compass again after a five-second cooldown.
Finally, follow the compass to the chest and open it to get the rewards that await you. It can also lead you to Monetoos, which you must solve to get the final reward. Some Monetoos require you to be in Saurian form to access the puzzle. The hunt for treasure chests and monetoos makes you move around the entire map, giving you a cent per cent on Exploration.
Conclusion
Treasure Chests and Monetoos have a love-hate relationship with the players. Some like these small features, while others do not. But, at the end of the day, as long as you have fun, nothing else matters. May your pulls get you the characters you want in the current and upcoming banners.
