▍Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: The Gods' Limits
The divine council convenes regularly, yet only three of the four Archons are present: the Archo
ns of Life, Death, and Time. They discuss the whereabouts of the Archon of Void, but beneath t
he heavens, Pierro (The Jester) casts his gaze, signaling the steady advance of a god-slaying plan.
▍The Archon of Life – Naberius
A deity wielding the authority over life, responsible for the creation of living beings.
Originally created the first Hydro Archon, Egeria, but has since been consumed and fused wit
h "Gold" Rhinedottir.
Rhinedottir, an alchemist from Khaenri'ah, was obsessed with creating life—her creations includ
e Albedo and Durin, the dragon of Dragonspine.
Now, with the divine power of creation, what new beings will she forge? And to what purpose?
▍ The Archon of Death – Ronava
The deity governing death, capable of imposing decay and demise upon all things.
Initially perceived as a villain for cursing the people of Khaenri'ah with immortality 500 years
ago (as seen with Teyvat’s long-suffering figures like Dainsleif).
However, Natlan’s lore reveals that the first Pyro Archon, Hephaistos, struck a deal with Ronav
a, leading to the creation of the "Resurrection Ode" and the survival of Natlan’s people.
In the PV, she appears in human form for the first time—exuding danger, aloofness, and a work
aholic personality. Has she won you over? Many players have already switched from hating to l
oving her.
▍ The Archon of Time – Istaroth
Controls the flow of time and the progression of history.
In the latest Archon Quest ("The Moment You Existed"), her interference allowed the Traveler t
wins to reunite, but this also indirectly led to Khaenri'ah’s downfall.
In the PV, she appears as a slacking office worker, disinterested in divine meetings. She allows R
hinedottir to create life and grants them history and meaning.
Interestingly, early theories suggested Venti might be Istaroth, and the PV fuels this speculation
—both share the same voice actors across four languages.
Is Venti truly her, or merely one of her thousand winds, a fragment of her power? Only time will
tell.
▍ The Archon of Void – Asmoday
The deity governing space, responsible for the Traveler’s arrival in Teyvat.
Notably absent from the divine council, yet the other Archons discuss her fate:
Did she betray the Heavenly Principles?
Does she love her new master more than herself?
Long-standing theories suggest Paimon is Asmoday—especially since Paimon prevented the Tr
aveler from leaving Teyvat (just as the Archon of Void once did).
If true, is Paimon playing a grand game? The Archons cannot defy the Heavenly Principles' rule
s, so perhaps they need an "Outlander" (the Traveler) to challenge Celestia.
"Paimon is more than just emergency food?"
▍Conclusion
The four Archons are enigmatic and unique—they are the "Shadows of the Heavenly Principle
s", balancing and restraining one another.
Without the Archon of Void, the others cannot fully manifest their powers. The Archon of Deat
h can impose death upon space itself, but the Archon of Time can revive what Ronava destroys.
Yet without the Archon of Life’s creations, Istaroth would have no beings to bestow history, m
emory, or knowledge upon.
They are distinct yet interconnected. What are their true identities and goals? Stay tuned as Gen
shin Impact’s story unfolds.
