Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 3.3 is now live, featuring two limited-time character banners: Hyacine and The Herta in the first half, followed by Cipher and Aglaea in the second. With limited resources, free-to-play (F2P) players need to prioritize wisely. This guide offers clear recommendations based on utility, overall strength, and resource cost.

First Half Banner

Hyacine – Versatile Support for All Teams

As a newly released character, Hyacine is a powerful all-round support who brings reliable healing and durability to the entire team. Key highlights of her kit:

Basic Attack & Skill: Restore HP to all allies;

Passive Talent: Automatically heals allies when their HP drops;

Ultimate: Increases the team’s Max HP, improving survivability and reducing risk of sudden defeats.

Hyacine is highly flexible and effective in most content, even without specific synergy. However, when paired with high-damage characters like Castorice, she significantly boosts team sustain, making her ideal for players who lack strong healers or shielders.

Pull Recommendation:

Excellent versatility; fits into nearly all team comps;

Low skill floor, suitable for beginners;

Top priority if your account lacks reliable survival support.

The Herta – Niche Utility with Conditional Value

The Herta returns in this banner as a support-DPS hybrid, offering both shielding and offensive capabilities. His strengths include:

Consistent performance in Memory of Chaos and Pure Fiction;

High scaling at Eidolon 1+, with noticeable improvements;

Good synergy in shield-based or special mechanics teams.

That said, his base (E0) performance is lackluster, and he’s highly reliant on Eidolon investment to shine.

Pull Recommendation:

Consider only if you already have him at E1+ or want to build for niche content;

Not recommended for beginners or players with limited Stellar Jades.

Second Half Banner

Cipher – Unique Mechanics, High Burst Potential

Cipher is a Nihility support who features a “damage recording and release” mechanic. Her key strengths:

Skill & Ultimate: Marks enemies and tracks all team damage dealt during that period;

Second Ultimate Use: Converts recorded damage into real, massive burst damage;

Ideal partner for burst-based DPS such as Feixiao or Acheron.

While her design is innovative and enjoyable, she is heavily team-dependent and not considered meta-defining.

Pull Recommendation:

Best for players who enjoy trying new mechanics or already have compatible characters;

Skip if your goal is maximizing overall power with minimal resources.

Aglaea – Moderate Power, Collector’s Pick

Aglaea returns with a stylish appearance but moderate gameplay impact. Her DPS scales heavily with Eidolon levels and Light Cone investments.

Requires at least E1 and her signature Light Cone to reach decent output;

Not recommended to invest further if you already own her at E0;

Mostly for collectors or fashion-conscious players with extra resources.

Pull Recommendation:

Limited combat value for F2P players; skip unless you're a big fan.
