Chrono Tokens are one of the most important currencies in Marvel Rivals if you care about the Battle Pass. They determine how quickly you unlock seasonal skins, emotes, sprays, and other rewards. Understanding how they work—how to earn them, spend them, convert them, and what happens at the end of a season—can save you time and help you get more value from your playtime.

Chrono Tokens are the purple, seasonal currency tied exclusively to the Battle Pass. Unlike Lattice (the premium currency bought with real money) or Units (used for store cosmetics), Chrono Tokens exist only to progress through the current season’s Battle Pass pages.

You spend them to claim individual rewards such as character skins, MVP animations, emotes, sprays, nameplates, and small amounts of Units or Lattice. Most standard rewards cost around 200 Chrono Tokens, while skins often cost 400. Once a season ends, the majority of these tokens reset, so they function as a limited-time progression currency.

There are both free and paid ways to earn Chrono Tokens.
Free methods form the core of regular play:

Consistent daily login and mission completion remains the most reliable free source for most players.
Accelerated method: You can convert Lattice directly into Chrono Tokens at a 1:1 ratio. This is useful if you want to unlock Battle Pass rewards faster. Lattice itself can be purchased through the official store or third-party top-up services such as TOPUPlive, depending on which payment options and prices work best for you.

Chrono Tokens are spent only inside the Battle Pass menu. Rewards are arranged across multiple pages. You must unlock items in sequence on each page before moving forward.

A practical approach is to prioritise the cosmetics or currency rewards you actually want rather than claiming everything in order if the system allows flexibility. Once you own the Luxury Pass and finish every reward, leftover tokens gain an extra purpose (see conversion below).
Yes, but only under specific conditions:
When both conditions are met, a conversion option appears on the final page of the Battle Pass. The rate is 1,000 Chrono Tokens = 100 Units. This conversion is manual—you have to do it yourself before the season ends. It provides a useful way to turn excess seasonal currency into permanent Units that can be spent on store cosmetics. Free-track players cannot access this feature.

In most cases, no. Chrono Tokens reset at the start of a new season.
What happens at season end:
Limited exception: Tokens you purchased directly with Lattice may partially carry over. The amount retained is the lesser of your remaining tokens or the total you bought with Lattice during that season. These protected tokens are sent via in-game mail in the new season. Because of the reset, it is generally better to spend or convert excess tokens before the season closes rather than stockpiling them.
For free-to-play players, yes—if you enjoy the seasonal cosmetics and want the free-track Units and items. Daily missions make steady progress realistic without heavy time investment.
For Luxury Battle Pass owners, the tokens become even more valuable. After finishing the entire pass, you can convert leftovers into Units, effectively turning playtime into store currency.
Casual players who log in infrequently may find the grind less rewarding, especially since unused tokens mostly disappear. In that case, focusing only on the rewards you care about (or skipping the pass entirely) can be the better choice.
Chrono Tokens are used for Marvel Rivals’ Battle Pass rewards. You mainly earn them through gameplay, and under certain conditions, you can convert them into Units. Since most reset each season, it’s important to spend or convert them before they expire.
